Orange County Movies in the Park

There aren’t many places that can beat Orange County in the Summertime. Beach days are endless, picnics are easy and there’s always something to do or somewhere to go! Although we are nearing the end of July, there is still plenty of Summer left, so soak it up! In a recent blog we gave your opinions on some of the best Summer concerts happening in the area this Summer, but that is not the only night activity to take the family to. Movies in the Park are also a great way to bring everyone together, pack a picnic, and make a night out of it! There are multiple places that host movie in the park events, but here are a few of our favorites that are showing classics throughout the month of August!

Yorba Regional Park in Anaheim

The Summer movie series titled, Sunset Cinema, still has a few great showings left this season! On August 11, they’ll be showing A Bug’s Life,  then on August 18 The Sandlot  will be showing! Two great movies that many of your older kids will remember from their childhood!

Tustin

You can find movies in the park in Tustin at a few different locations! Tonight Centennial Park will be showing Moana! People tend to show up around 5:30 pm to play a few games and find a good seat, but the actual movie does not start until 8 pm. At the beginning of August, Peppertree Park will be screening The Jungle Book-  a great family film! The timing for this showing is similar to that at Centennial Park. Finally on August 10, Camino Real Park will be showing Finding Dory.

Anaheim

Aside from the Yorba Regional Park, there are a few other locations in Anaheim that have movie in the park showings throughout the rest of Summer! Tomorrow night Juarez Park will be showing Tangled for their Disney Summer Movie Series. This series continues on August 4 in Stoddard Park with Peter Pan. Following this classic, a newer film, Moana, will be screening at Eucalyptus Park on August 11.

Irvine

If you and the kids are looking for a new twist on movies in the park, the William Woolllett Aquatics Center puts on a Splash-In Movie & Recreational Swim event where families are welcome to bring swimsuits and floaties and lounge/play in the pool while Moana plays on a large screen. Because this event is so unique there is a small fee of $2 for children 1-17 and $4 for anyone 18 and over. The event begins at 6:30 pm so make sure not to be late!

Start packing your picnics and gathering your blankets because movies in the park are not an event to miss this Summer! It’s a great way to bring the family together and it’s an activity everyone can enjoy!
