Fall Events in Orange County

The temperature might not be dropping too dramatically in southern California, but Fall is just around the corner and it’s time to start decorating, preparing and cooking for the season. Locals love this time of year because there is not only excitement about the holiday season approaching, but also so much happening in Orange County. Here’s your guide to all Fall events happening in these next couple months!
1. Knott’s Scary Farm
Kicking off the Fall season is a fan favorite among Orange County locals! Knott’s Scary Farm is a tradition hosted by the Buena Park amusement park! This experience is so extreme that it calls for its own ticket! On select nights, beginning at the end of September and running through the end of October, visitors have the chance to visit this unique haunted house experience. Their tagline for the attraction is “where nightmares never end.” It’s certainly an ‘enter at your own risk’ experience, but many people love the attraction and even get big groups of friends to go together!
2. Newport Beach Wine and Food Festival
An event targeted at the over 21 crowd of Orange County, the Newport Beach Wine and Food Festival is a three day festival takes place at the end of September, and locals or visitors are welcome purchase different levels of tickets. In addition to decadent cuisine and tasty dishes, there will be over 60 different craft beer, specialty wine and even a few cocktail vendors. Although this event is not exactly Fall specific, it’s a great chance to find good holiday/ dinner party gifts.
3. Oktoberfest at Oak Gille
At this extravagant dinner hosted by Oak Grille in Newport Beach, attendees will be treated to a five course meal. In addition to the food, attendees will also be served a variety of craft beers that are special to the season. Seats are limited for this October 27th event so make sure you book your spot soon!
4. Holiday Faire in Irvine
Need to get some Christmas shopping done? What better way to do it than all in one place. This Holiday Faire takes place November 4 and 5, so you can get most of your shopping out of the way early. At the Holiday Faire there will be over 100 vendors of all different sorts. This is a great place to find holiday gifts for dinner parties, in laws or friends!
5. Surfing Santa Competition
Have you ever seen Santa surf? Well, if you head down to Salt Creek Beach, in Dana Point, on November 18 or 19 you can see hundreds of them! This fun and friendly competition requires all participants to dress up in some form of a Santa costume. The event raises money for the Surf Healing foundation, and surfers are awarded prizes depending on how extravagant their costumes are. This is a very fun event to bring the whole family to!
